Fibonacci SequenceThis is a special video I show my students when teaching my Garden Unit. We spend time exploring how the Fibonacci Sequence is found in nature, art, mathematics, structures, and word problems. They're always in awe!
We continue our studies to plan and plot a garden at our school, test soil, maintain a garden schedule, and harvest the plants. |

Roller Coaster PhysicsThis is a video created by Andrew Gatt, the inventor of paper roller coasters. When doing our roller coaster physics unit, I show my students this video to give them an idea of the possibilities ahead. We aim to create complex roller coasters, using many of the intricate pathways created by the inventor, as well as create our own. I will post pictures soon of our student work.

Geometry- Miniature GolfThese are examples of what we create for our miniature golf geometry project. The students use provided shapes to build their holes. They measure angles, determine the par for their course, and write a detailed description, and draw a diagram explaining how to get a hole-in-one. We measure and build a life-size golf course, and invite other classes to come play!
