Kimberly Vitatoe is a Gifted and Talented Specialist in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has taught in a variety of educational settings including 6th grade online mathematics, gifted and talented classrooms, kindergarten through eighth grade, and has served as a highly gifted science instructor for a middle school summer academy. Mrs. Vitatoe has collaborated and co-taught with 3rd-5th grade teachers to provide rigorous instruction to gifted and high ability students through the Accelerated Learning Model (ALM). She holds a M.Ed in Special Education for the Gifted and Talented, a B.A. in Elementary Education, completed the course study for her Online/Blended Teacher Certification, and is highly qualified to teach Middle School. Mathematics and Science. She has also begun the process of National Board Certification.
She is starting her seventh year of teaching and is originally from New Jersey. Her focus is on working with students for Causes and Competitions™, utilizing the Creative Problem Solving Model (CPS) and other critical and creative thinking techniques to find solutions to real-life problems. One of her projects included creating renewable energy concepts for the Boulder City Renewable Energy Research Park. She is consistently involved in professional development opportunities, seeking to maximize her skill-set. She is always available to provide resources and individualized plans for parents and families. Kimberly is currently seeking to design courses under her education initiative, Ahead of the Curve™. |
